Independence Day

I thought it appropriate that my first (ever) blog begin on Independence Day. Tonight was beautiful, just as firework displays always are! They are romantic, awe-inspiring, and make me want to cuddle. :) I am a lover of beautiful things and this is one of the ways I found it fitting that I begin my first post tonight. The other reason is because, like a lot of other holidays, the meaning of July 4th is often misplaced or simply forgotten today. It's all about the big sha"bang" and not enough about its true meaning. Now, I have no intention of lecturing you about its meaning. I think that stating my admiration and discontent in the way we teach our children about Independence Day is enough. You get the point. This day is fitting with how I was raised and so I thought I'd share a little bit about myself with you.
My name's Amanda Dee Holland (Mosby).
My first name came from a Waylon Jennings song "Amanda", though I claim the "Amanda" by Boston (listen to it! I love it!)
My middle name originates from my grandma (Vivian Dolores Fisher -refered to as Dee)
I was raised in a family with a military background. My grandpa was in the Navy. My step-dad was in the Army and I have a brother who's in the Air Force.
I got married when I was 19 years old to a man who's servant heart I admire every day!
I love nature and animals! The beauty and love that radiates from them steals my heart every day.

That's enough for now I think. There's definitely a lot more to tell, but all in due time my friends.. all in due time. I hope you all have a wonderful night!
